The Dark Angels are a come and go crew. They create then disappear like street art. Their works exist in fragments, particles that float, dust motes that spin before the wind that blows them to faraway places. They are individuals that work as one. Deep as oceans, as impenetrable as the night. Art urchins and poets, they dissolve before they form. They are the Dark Angels, they are discharge. They are a bloody mouthful.

I am sorry to see you go! I do understand that there is much being posted and little in the way of responses.

Nevertheless, I will still be following you on YouTube, etc.

Take care, my friend!

Yes Iryna, I'm inventing a device right now that puts a sharp pinch in peoples bum cheeks whenever they view an image and don't respond ;) haha I'm gonna try to comment more now that I have internet, and we must do something to spice things up get be active again..but then again internet is huge so much content and a lot very good, let alone real life...its hard to keep up with all of it...

Ow, ow, ouch, yaroop! My bum cheeks! The beta version's working, Aaron.

It's a pity that blogger doesn't have a 'Like' feature. Liking may seem insincere, I know, but writing things like 'Love it', 'Great work' & various convolutions of the same nature appear equally insincere. We don't always have anything to say about the work posted here other than expressing the obvious & appearing to be inane. Unfortunately, that's the nature of the forms of art that are posted here. There's seldom anything that DOESN'T impact on us and resonate on a subconscious level... but how do we let the artists know that we've looked at/read/watched/experienced their work and been moved by it without making a puerile comment in order to let them know that we were there?

As an example, I watched the collaboration piece between Kendall & Albano, "Jesus Christ the Cherry Tree" yesterday. I had nothing of substance to say so I simply went to YouTube & hit the 'Like' button.

Albano & I had a brief correspondence regarding the amount of NOIZE in cyberspace. He suggested that he might just go back to concentrating on blogger in the New Year. I've been thinking the same for some time. I'd rather spend time with people I love & respect in cyberspace than have to deal with inane NOIZE. Most of my favourite people post here. 'Discharge' has been a place we could converge for so many years so I'd be depressed to see it go under.

Ultimately, the question is HOW to use this space in a way that lets everyone who is part of it knows that, while we come and go, we meet, appreciate and spend time going through the earlier posts we missed out on without having to comment? Do we set up some sort of code like 'L' as a substitute for a comment in order to let contributors know we've 'Looked', 'Liked', 'Loved', 'Lingered' over any given piece?

By the same token, using codes excludes people from being part of the 'inner sanctum'. An induction kit? That is also an 'exclusive' concept.

To reiterate, I'd be devastated if this meeting place were to succumb to an untruth: that there is a lack of interest & appreciation.

How, then, to make it clear that 'we' come here & spend quality time with the like-minded?

That means I was here! Right? No? I used to see a poet in the blogosphere who tried to meme that idea, the symbol above. She called it leaving a stone, or pebble, or something, and it derived from someone - fictional or 'real' I don't recall - who would actually leave a little stone on your doorstep if they visited your place and you weren't there, so you'd know that they were.

Iryna, I'm not sure what the NOIZE you refer to is, but in my mind I've been blaming FB for decreasing comments here and elsewhere. I know at least a couple of people who have left the blogosphere almost altogether, to hang out on the faceparty.
I only go over there now if someone calls or I have a link back to blogosphere to post.

I do rather like the idea of the 'pebble' but, as it isn't universally known, I'd be reticent to use it as I'm sure people other than ourselves come past here. It may seem obscure enough to them without their going into the comments section & seeing a column of (.)'s. It smacks of a sense of an in-crowd. It'd be sad to discourage anyone from returning because they feel like an intruder.

I'm busy with a project for someone else at the moment so have yet to find whether a 'like' button can be added. That's a cyberspace universal. Maybe I could make it an 'I came, I observed, I appreciated' button.

Yes, your right on the mark regarding NOIZE. So much goes on without anything going on other than finding you've frittered (FB'd, Twittered) your day away. I prefer to be able to focus, as one does here, then get back to one's work, creative projects, etc.

I've detested FB from the beginning due to its not having a 'subscribe' option. I've only posted a few things there because I hate having to tag people in order to make them aware of the fact that I've posted. It feels to me as if I'm forcing their hand/imposing on them. If I could subscribe to their notes or photos, I could take a leisurely squiz and drop a pebble/piece of my brain as a splat under their work.
